So we stayed for the traditional Easter bonfire; of the ca. 70 different bonfires happening in the Hannover area, we went with Christoph and Susanne to their club, which really has no analog for non-Germans: it's a kind of country-club cum camp ground, but not snooty rich golf-course-country-club, more concerned with having a nice peaceful place in the countryside to get away to; there are sports fields, playgrounds, a sauna, and of course the lake, and members keep a caravan -- the Grümmes had two, one that they actually use as a camper hitching it to the car and going places with it when it's not here, and one that is no longer mobile for the kids. And they were doing a bonfire here for Easter.
